The Kingdom unveils another super stadium ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2034.
Can Saudi Arabia kick it? Yes, it can. Not only did it surprise the world by wooing the legendary football player Cristiano Ronaldo to join its national team, Al Nassr. Now, it is taking things one dribble further, as it has been reported that Riyadh will be getting a new football stadium.
Backed by the ROSHN group, the ROSHN Stadium is poised to be a game-changer. Spanning over 450,000 square metres with a seating capacity of 45,000 seats, it’ll offer more than just matches and sports.
Located in Southwest Riyadh, ROSHN Stadium’s design will be nothing short of spectacular. Inspired by Saudi Arabia’s central region, it will feature a modern crystalline design. Other features of the stadium will also pay homage to Saudi architecture.
A key focus of ROSHN Stadium’s design will also be functionality and sustainability. The roof will be built to allow for maximum air movement while ensuring proper ventilation. This is essential because the stadium will be packed once the FIFA World Cup 2034 kicks off in the Kingdom. This will also control the amount of sunlight that enters the stadium. Moreover, the latest technologies for water and energy management will also be incorporated, including the use of solar panels.
The main sports and event floor of ROSHN Stadium will feature an array of shops, restaurants, and hospitality venues, all connected to enhance the visitor experience. Outdoor public spaces, walkways, and public green areas will bring a touch of nature to this complex.
Apart from football matches, ROSHN Stadium will also play host to entertainment, cultural, and social gatherings, so expect tons of events to take place here all year round.
With its state-of-the-art facilities, the ROSHN Stadium is a testament to Saudi Arabia’s commitment to establishing itself as a global sports hub. Details of when the stadium will be completed are still under wraps but with FIFA World Cup 2034 heading to the Kingdom, this opening is not too far away.
