The world’s tallest sports tower will be home to the world’s tallest indoor climbing wall and the world’s highest running track.
Saudi Arabia is supercharging in the world of sports. From signing the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, and Karim Benzema to hosting some of the globe’s biggest sporting events, the Kingdom is doing it all. And now it’s set to break records once again with the world’s tallest sports tower: the Global Sports Tower.
Set to take shape in Riyadh’s impressive Sports Boulevard Project, the designs for the Global Sports Tower have been approved by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. Soon, it will rise as the tallest sports tower in the world, cementing Saudi Arabia’s place on the worlds sporting map.
The Global Sports Tower is poised to be a marvel of modern architecture and a hub for sports lovers. Located on Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Road, it will follow the principles of Salmani architecture — blending originality with modernity.
The Global Sports Tower will rise 130 metres high. Spanning 84,000 square metres, it will house over 30 different sports facilities. Some of these include the world’s tallest indoor climbing wall, measuring 98 metres high. At the very top of this tower will be the world’s highest running track. This 250-metre circuit, digitised for a unique training experience, will offer breathtaking views of Riyadh.
The Sports Boulevard project, launched in 2019, is one of four mega projects in Riyadh. It aims to enhance the quality of life for the capital’s residents and visitors by providing world-class facilities and promoting a sports culture. By encouraging regular physical activity and sports participation, it encourages them to adopt a healthier lifestyle. The Global Sports Tower is its crown jewel.
The details of when the tower will be completed haven’t been disclosed yet, but check in with FACT for all the details.
