Are you ready to take to the skies? The AlUla Skies Festival 2023 has started
The Saudi festival is returning from Wednesday April 26 to Saturday May 13, and it’s all about highlighting there’s really no better way to see the historic region of Saudi than by taking to the skies
Whether you’re after a bit of adventure – or a lot – there are AlUla Skies Festival 2023 activities during the day and night for you to enjoy. If you prefer to keep your feet firmly on the ground, don’t fear, because there are things to do
Popular hot air balloon tours will take place over North Hegra daily between 7am to 8am and 4pm to 6pm. As you float serenely, you’ll get birds’ eye views of one of AlUla’s most famous landmarks
If you want to see more while soaring in the clouds, there are one-hour helicopter tours
What’s more, families can enjoy AlUla Sky Kite: a show from professional kiters set in the middle of the desert, or head over to the outdoor cinema from 4pm to 1am daily
Those who are really looking for some adventure and adrenaline, can enjoy the AlUla Giant Swing 85 metres above the ground or climb up the newly launched AlUla Stairway towards the clouds on the 45-metre ladder then speed down the 150-metre zipline back to the ground
The soaring activities at the AlUla Skies Festival 2023 continue into the evenings with stargazing and astrophotography From 4.30pm to 10.30pm daily, there will be stargazing with expert guides discussing the constellations as well as providing tips on how to shoot them
Music is also a big part of the AlUla Skies Festival 2023, with live performances featuring international group Rhythm & Blues plus jazz nights. Another highlight is Symphony Under the Stars which brings music, some 400 drones and lights together against the breath-taking AlUla skies
