Fury Vs. Usyk boxing match postponed until May

The match brings together two heavyweight boxers.

Saudi Arabia is coming in strong with its sports news. The Kingdom has just announced a new date for Ring Of Fire, an epic boxing match between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk. Taking place in Riyadh, the Ring of Fire is a fight that forms part of this year’s Riyadh Season. Originally scheduled for Saturday, 17 February 2024, the fight at Kingdom Arena will now take place on 18 May 2024.

The boxing match looks set to be a showstopper, as both Fury and Usyk have unbeaten records. Fury hails from Manchester, England, and he has represented both England and Ireland during his career. He is the World Boxing Council’s world champion, and has held the title since 2020. Plus, he is scheduled to play against Francis Ngannou on 28 October. 

Fury shared on Instagram: “I do what I say. I say what I do. Undisputed. This is the Gypsy King era. You can’t rabbit run anymore Usyk – you’re getting it. Thank you to the Kingdom.”

Fury’s British promoter, Frank Warren, added: “Delighted to finally get this fight signed. This is the biggest fight that could possibly be made in our sport. The heavyweights always spark the imagination of the fans, and I have no doubt this will be the biggest boxing event of the century.”

Alex Krassyuk, who promotes Usyk, explained: “I can’t believe it’s happening but it is. Gratitude to the KSA for making it happen, and respect to Tyson for his courage.”

Tickets for the Tyson Fury Vs. Oleksandr Usyk fight at the KIngdom Arena are available now. Tickets can be purchased through webook.com and are priced at SAR 70 (G5), SAR 175 (G2), SAR 200 (G1), SAR 500 (gold), SAR 1,000 (platinum) and SAR 1,500 (diamond).
