Red Sea Film Festival

The Red Sea International Film Festival today announced the dates of its second edition, following the great success of the inaugural edition.

The Red Sea Film Festival is scheduled for December 1-10, 2022 in Jeddah Al Balad.

The first edition witnessed the screening of 138 films, attracting more than 30,000 cinema enthusiasts, and 3,115 film industry professionals, media professionals and students participated.

The performances were distributed to 5 theaters in Jeddah, Al Balad, and the festival included many activities and events, including virtual and technical reality shows, and many artistic and cultural projects and exhibitions.

In its inaugural edition, the festival screened 138 feature films and short films from 67 countries in 34 languages. He also made 27 new Saudi films celebrating local talent.

The Red Sea Lab is back this year to offer the opportunity for Saudi and Arab cinematic works, with a team comprising a director, producer and writer participating in each project who will join workshops held throughout the year.

The Red Sea Fund also announced support of up to $14 million, which has so far been distributed to 97 projects from Africa and the Arab world in the development, production or post-production stages, with the aim of reaching a global audience.
