The first Kingdom’s Melody Festival is coming to Jeddah

The three-day event will honour the biggest composers in the Saudi music scene through concerts and exhibitions

Do you hear that beat? The very first Kingdom’s Melody Festival will is coming to the Jeddah Superdome.

The largest events hall in the world will be filled with Saudi music from Thursday September 28 to Saturday September 30 as part of the music festival. The three-day event is organised by the Ministry of Culture (MOC), and it will highlight the history and the cultural relevance of music in Saudi.

Kingdom’s Melody Festival concerts include Saudi singers Mohammed Abdu, Abdulmajeed Abdullah and Abadi Al Johar. During their performances, they will pay homage to Saudi composers like Omar Kadars, Fawzi Mahsoun, Saleh Al Sheri, Mohammed Shafiq, Tariq Abdul Hakim, Talal Bagher and Abdel Rabb Idris.

In addition to the concerts, you can walk through the discography of your favourite composers in the Shelves of Melodies event where their songs will be displayed on the shelves in the corridor leading to the concert hall.

You will also have the chance to send your favourite composers a message expressing your love for them through the Send Love event.

There’s more to tune into at the Kingdom’s Melody Festival. An exhibition about the major milestones in Saudi music is also part of the festival. The exhibition will feature three themes: Saudi music’s early recordings, the timeline of Saudi composers and the most popular Saudi songs from the 1960s to 2000s.
