The tournament will be held in the Kingdom for the first time, and the second round draw has been revealed
It’s official. Saudi is hosting the AFC Asian Cup 2027.
The news was confirmed on Wednesday February 1 at the 33rd Asian Football Federation Congress in Bahrain.
Adding to the Kingdom’s firsts, the AFC Asian Cup 2027 will be held for the first time in Saudi and will be the 19th edition of the international men’s football championship.
Four other countries were in on the bid to host the AFC Asian Cup 2027 including Iran, China, Uzbekistan and Qatar, with Saudi taking the win.
The tournament will include 24 national teams and will be held in Saudi for the first time.
The second round draw of the Asian qualifiers for the World Cup 2026 and Asia Cup 2027 in Saudi was revealed in July 2023. The Saudi Falcons are in the a group with Cambodia, Pakistan, Jordan, and Tajikistan.
