Riyadh season halls to be Al Hilal’s home stadium

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal have found a new home for their matches this season with the under-construction Boulevard Hall in Riyadh.

Entertainment authority chief Turki Al-Sheikh said during a live on Instagram that they have reached a SAR40 million a year agreement with Al-Hilal president Fahd bin Nafel with a grace period of the first 6 months.

Al-Sheikh thanked Prince AlWaleed bin Talal, a long standing backer of Al-Hilal and founder of the Kingdom Holding Company, for contributing SAR25 million, thus renaming the stadium the Kingdom Arena.

Bin Nafel said the new filed will meet all requirements of the Saudi Pro League, FIFA and, AFC

Al-Hilal will play the first match in the new stadium in January for the Riyadh Season Cup.

Per the agreement, Al-Sheikh said the Kingdom Arena will host entertainment events off season.

Bin Nafel said the club is working on packages for foreign tourist where they come and spend two days in Riyadh and visit entertainment hubs in addition to attending the games

The new facility holds 20 VIP cabins and a sky lounge with a capacity of 360 persons

Boulevard Hall is set to be an exceptional 200,000 square metre multi-purpose building constructed in under 60 days (yes, you read that right). The new stadium can accommodate up to 26,000 spectators and uses the most recent technology to make sure your experience at the venue is top-notch. The venue is set to be under construction until the beginning of 2024

The agreement was signed between His Excellency, Turki AbdulMuhsen A. AlAlShik, Chairman of The General Entertainment Authority and Mr. Fahad Bin Saad Bin Nafel, President of the Al-Hilal Club Company.

The new destination will be opening as part of the major citywide festival Riyadh Season 2023 which will also be welcoming exhibitions like Ana Arabiya, Riyadh Toy Festival, Dogs Festival, Riyadh Car Show, the ConCon Conference, and the Riyadh Season Football Cup featuring local clubs like Al Hilal, and Al Nassr and a global club too.

Active since 1957, Riyadh-based Al-Hilal, who play in blue, white and red, have been Saudi champions no less than 18 times. In the 2022/23 season, Al-Hilal finished third behind winners Al Ittihad and Cristiano Ronaldo’s team, Al Nassr.
