Art mode: activated. Desert X AlUla is coming back to the ancient oasis in Saudi for its third edition.
Wondering what is Desert X exactly? It’s an international art landscape exhibition where viewers will be able to enjoy large-scale artworks surrounded by AlUla’s majestic landscapes.
Desert X 2024 will be part of the AlUla Arts Festival, which is set to take place from Thursday February 8 to Saturday March 2. Official dates of Desert X AlUla 2024 have yet to be revealed so keep checking Time Out Riyadh for the latest.
There will also be a new art exhibition at the Maraya as part of the AlUla Arts Festival.
The AlUla Arts Festival and was initially established in the Coachella Valley of Southern California. The inaugural exhibition was held in 2020. The AlUla event marked the first site-responsive art (art reflecting its surrounding space and the story it tells) exhibition in Saudi and the first exhibition of its kind outside of the United States. The second exhibition followed in 2022.
The engaging event brings regional and international artists to the northwestern part of Saudi and gives viewers the chance to interact with masterpieces in a unique way.
The 2022 edition of Desert X featured a diverse range of artworks under the theme of Sarab, which played off the concept of desert culture and mirages.
